TURKEY Testimonials

My son and I have just returned from our 11 day tour of Turkey, and I wanted to thank you for the outstanding job your guide & driver did in making sure our trip was memorable and enjoyable.  From beginning to end everything has been outstanding.  Our guide's knowledge was impressive.
I have taken many tours over the years and very few would compare with your guide - particularly in his understanding of ancient history.
I have no hesitation in recommending Turkey as a destination and your tours in particular to my family and friends.

  Gallipoli

Just a quick note to let you know my clients have just finished their Gallipoli trip and said it was amazing and the staff were so helpful. Always nice to hear good feedback!
With only 2 nights/3 days in Istanbul Alan & Christine opted for a full day tour to Gallipoli - starting with a 6.30 am pick up and transfer to Eceabat, followed by a guided tour visiting Beach Cemetery, ANZAC Cove, Ari Burnu Cemetery, ANZAC Commemorative Site, Mehmetcik Memorial/Statue, Lone Pine Australian memorial, Johnston's Jolly, Turkish and Allied trenches and tunnels, 57th Regiment Turkish Cemetery, The Nek Cemetery and Chunuk Bair NZ Memorial.

Great work! Innovative Travel and their representatives in Turkey did an excellent job.

We loved the Taskonaklar hotel in Cappadocia - charming, peaceful, convenient and full of character.  The local tour guide had excellent English and was thoroughly knowledgeable.

In Istanbul the Grand Yavus hotel was a well serviced establishment with pleasant and helpful staff - we found a little Kurdish cafe over the road that we dined at several times.  The Istanbul guides were also excellent.

  Turkey - August

We have recently returned from a 'Turkish Odyssey' holiday.  Our guide went out of his way to make sure we were happy with everything.  Small group touring is a great way to go.

Our personal highlights were the balloon ride in Cappadocia, and the visit to Ephesus.  What a wonderful country

Don & Rayliene (on Marvellous Turkey coach tour)
Just a quick note to let you know we are fine.  We are just about to leave Cappadocia.  We have the upmost faith in our guide Mete - he is a gem.
Thank you for your call.

Thank you for being concerned.
We are far away from the airport and decided to go ahead with our plans.  We have had a wonderful day being guided on a walking today.  A noticeable police presence - which is reassuring.  Tomorrow we have booked a Bosphorus boat trip, and we are not changing any of our plans.  The Turkish people are VERY hospitable and go about their business as usual.  Top marks for our hotel.  Thank you.

School Group Visit

In September 2015 I had the pleasure of travelling once again to Turkey. This time leading a High School College group of 34 travellers.

Our itinerary of 7 nights in Turkey included Istanbul, Canakkale and the Gallipoli experience, finishing in Kusadasi. Whilst I had travelled to this region several times in the past it was such a delight to see much of what I had already seen though the eyes of teenagers – their amazement at what they were seeing, experiencing, interaction with the local guides and local people and of course the Turkish food. It confirmed for me that this is such a very special place and should be included or at least considered whenever anyone travels to Europe.

When travelling with any group especially a school college you are very mindful of ensuring they have the best possible experience, best value and are kept safe. Turkey, in my experience, is a country where I have always felt completely safe on all of my visits. ….. and all of our group were very relaxed and felt very safe even in the environs of the Grand bazaar and Istanbul Spice Markets.

Do not be deterred simply by what you read or hear in the media – I would travel there again tomorrow and travel with my family.

    Turkish Delights

Good hotels, all in central location, but our favourite was the Taskonaklar Boutique Cave Hotel in Cappadocia. All the rooms at this hotel are carved into the volcanic formations; every room is different and decorated with antique furniture and carpets contributing to their atmosphere and originality.  Local guides and Reps. were excellent in all the places we visited in Turkey. We will be recommending your tours to our relatives and friends.  Thank you for a great trip - for all the right reasons

Istanbul, Gallipoli and Troy

I travelled solo to Turkey in September 2015 and had 4 nights in total in Istanbul, Gallipoli and Troy (Eceabat). I wasn't prepared for how much I would love Turkey, and I regret not staying longer!!

Booking my travel all through Innovative Travel was the best thing I decided to do! Everything went sooo smoothly, even though my flight was delayed getting into Istanbul, there was still a guy waiting for me outside of customs! I got the most out of my small stay by prebooking as all I had to do was just show up at the designated time on my documents. All the guides in Istanbul/Gallipoli and Troy were AMAZING! They had so much knowledge you felt like anything that was asked you got an exceptional answer..PLUS more! We had smaller tour groups in Gallipoli and Troy which was awesome as you felt like you had a easier experience as you had more time listening to the guides rather than waiting for big groups to catch up! There was a bit of rushing around after the Troy tours to get back to Istanbul but never once did I feel like I would be left behind. Crowded house tours checked everyone was where they should be at all times or just by asking the guides they also were so helpful!  The hotels were great as well! I really loved the hotel Fehmi Bey in Istanbul as it had a gorgeous roof top bar which had a great view of the Blue Mosque!

I am definitely going to be visiting Turkey again as I enjoyed my time there so much, and Innovative Travel did such a fantastic job so it is one company I would completely trust in recommending their services! Their suppliers in Eceabat are just amazing !! One thing that should be mentioned as well is how welcoming and friendly the Turkish people are, it just astounded me! It is one country which is under appreciated for the amazing locals and great hospitality, and never once did I feel unsafe while I was there ! My 'wow no words to describe' moment, was on the landing cruise around Gallipoli waters where I shared a Turkish beer with some fellow Australians and Turks while seeing Anzac Cove in the background! It was indescribable and very moving.

I spoke to many New Zealanders and Australians (mainly in Gallipoli) and they were all surprised by how much they loved Turkey! So go to Turkey and spend longer than 4 or 5 days there and use Innovative Travel you will be pleasantly surprised : )

  Classical Turkey

All our hotels (Istanbul, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Izmir, Canakkale) on our  coach tour were excellent, and in good locations.  We have nothing but praise for our local agents, representatives and guides.

We feel we saw a lot of what Turkey has to offer in the course of our 10 days.
We will definitely travel on an Ancient Kingdoms Holiday again.

Independent Turkey

We stayed in a selection of hotels, each one memorable:
* Faros Hotel in Istanbul - for it's excellent location (close to Blue Mosque etc)
* The Limani Hotel in Canakkale - great location and great food
* Efe Boutique Hotel in Kusadasi - excellent in every way.  Staff were super helpful and it was in a gorgeous location by the sea
* Museum Hotel in Cappadocia - Excellent location and wonderful staff

We found all our guides and local reps excellent - especially the 2 guides we had in Troy and Goreme.   All guides were punctual, professional, efficient and very well informed.

We had a fantastic tour - thank you and your representatives in Turkey - they were calm and efficient.  I hope others enjoy your Turkey experience as much as we did!

Turkey

Our experience and enjoyment was knowing that Innovative Travel had certainly ensured we had the best guides. In Istanbul for instance, our guide stayed with us right through until 6.00 pm, made extra bookings like the Turkish Baths and delivered us safely to that venue.

The Gullet Cruise was excellent. A very comfortable large boat with a wonderful range of people, surprisingly all a similar age to us. (45-65). The food was absolutely fantastic on board as was the service.

It was so reassuring to have all the connections run so smoothly…that's what made our lives so easy.

Museum Hotel - where do I start! This place was unique and exquisite. We were extremely happy with all of our hotels which had  the best  position, best views, best rooms, best service. Innovative Travel really do ensure that level of choice in guides, connections, hotels etc.

Turkey exceeded expectations (I even surprised myself by going Hot Air ballooning in Cappadocia!, and we thank you for putting together such a wonderful trip.  All hotels were superb.
