PILGRIMAGE TOUR TO JORDAN & THE HOLYLAND

The Rev. Mike Hawke and Colleen Pasley co-hosted a tour to Jordan, Israel and Oberammergau in 2010, and because of the popularity of that tour they have developed this special 2012 itinerary
The Reverend Mike Hawke (formerly the Vicar of St Christophers Church in Avonhead from 1988 until 2010) is now based with the Anglican Mission Board as its Church Support Officer - a role which involves travelling around both New Zealand and the Pacific, providing a wider view of the church and its communities.
This special pilgrimage will breathe life into places mentioned in your bible by exploring the sights and lands where Jesus once lived and preached. You will also have the chance to stay in a Kibbutz in the Galilee.

Brief day by day itinerary
Day 1 Fly NZ - Dubai
Day 2 Dubai overnight
Day 3 Dubai - Amman - Petra:- Clear customs and travel the Desert Highway to Petra
Day 4 Petra :- explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site
Day 5 Petra - Dead Sea:- via the Kings Highway and Madaba and Mt Nebo
Day 6 Dead Sea - Jerusalem:- Cross the border into Israel
Day 7 Jerusalem:- Mt. of Olives. Garden of Gethsemane, Garden Tomb & St Georges Church
Day 8 Jerusalem:- Old City visit, Via Dolorosa, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Wailing Wall
Day 9 Jerusalem:- Shrine of the Book (Dead Sea Scrolls), Yad Vashem, Bethlehem visit
Day 10 Jerusalem:-Galilee via Caesarea and Nazareth and the Church of Annunciation.
Day 11 Galilee:- visit Capernaum, Tabgha (Loaves & Fishes site), Mount of Beatitudes
Sermon of the Mount
Day 12 Galilee:- Banias Springs (Caesarae of Phillipi), and Golan Heights tour
Day 13 Galilee :-Safed, Tel Dan, Mt Carmel, Haifa and the Bahai Gardens
Day 14 Galilee - Dubai:- Sheikh Hussein Bridge - Amman - Dubai with overnight stay
Day 15 Dubai - NZ :- Continue your journey home
Day 16 Arrive back in New Zealand |
