SKIMAX USA
In the USA you will find a wide choice of mountains and resorts to choose from such as Vail and Aspen Snowmass in Colorado to Lake Tahoe in California.
Wyoming and Utah also offer excellent options including world-class Jackson Hole and highly rated Park City.
|
|
|
When it comes to the complete package, Colorado has it all. The winter lifestyle in American's highest state originally set the standard for what we take for granted today in most other modern resorts. Skiing 'mile high' is a truly amazing experience and one that passionate skiers and boarders should definitely have on their must-do list.
At nearby Utah you will find some of the driest snow in the world. Salt Lake City is less than one hour's drive from nine Utah resorts and the host for the 2002 Winter Olympics. Utah offers some of the finest skiing and lodging in the world and resorts are so close you can ski a different resort every day. Park City is an old mining town, it is now a world-class ski destination with three side-by-side resorts - Deer Valley, Park City Mountain Resort and The Canyons. It's also the home of the Sundance Film Festival.
Wyoming, home state of Yellowstone National Park and the legendary Jackson Hole ski resort. A whopping 50% of Jackson's terrain is classified as 'expert' with couloirs and cliffs to challenge the most extreme skier. For those skiers not keen on the double blacks, there are plenty of easier slopes to enjoy.
California remains the great undiscovered ski area of North America. Steep uncrowded mountains, with world-class resorts a short drive from Los Angeles and San Francisco make California an attractive snow holiday destination. In the Central Sierra, south of Lake Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain and its sister resort, June Mountain, are the twin titans of skiing along H'way 395 - just 6 hrs from the heart of Los Angeles. The Lake Tahoe region is the gateway to breathtaking views and offers an abundance of skiing on a variety of mountains surrounding the snow-circled lake. Lake Tahoe offers 15 alpine ski areas, including the site on the 1960 Winter Olympics at Squaw Valley and the famous Heavenly Valley. Several ski areas have spectacular views of Lake Tahoe, whose cobalt blue waters never freeze in winter.

Copper Mountain (Colorado)
Facts:
Copper Mountain is just 2 hours from Denver with 2,450 acres of skiable terrain and a village that feels more like a neighborhood. Copper's guests enjoy steps away lodging, après ski entertainment, naturally divided terrain, exciting events and a welcoming, knowledgeable staff.
Copper has something for all ages and abilities. The naturally divided terrain starts out with gentle, sloping runs on the west, and gets progressively steeper as you head east. And there are several wide-open bowls for advanced skiers and riders. Copper also has one of the best terrain parks and pipes in Colorado.
Copper Mountain holidays are filled with plenty of rip time on the mountain, followed by a relaxing or rockin' night in The Village - the choice is yours. The new village features plenty of incredible lodging options, shops, restaurants, bars and family activities.
All of accommodation is just steps away from the mountain and gives you access to the Copper Mountain Athletic Club, featuring hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms. There are four levels of accommodation for guests to choose: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Bronze is clean and comfortable and is the most economic lodging option, great for guests looking for excellent value. Silver is a bit newer and typically the most spacious. Gold is the most popular lodging option and can be compared to three-star lodging. Copper has one platinum-rated building located in Union Creek. These are offered at a price, not a specific property. A surcharge can be added to these prices to guarantee your choice of lodging.
