They spent the first seven years of married life living in a cave in Petra and were happily married for over 20 years until Mohammed's death. Their eldest son Rami, NZ and Australian educated has also returned to Petra and has married locally. Marguerite's highly acclaimed book "Married to a Bedouin" is published by Penquin UK and is now on its 8th reprint. A fluent Arabic speaker she has many insights into the local culture and also immense knowledge of Petra.
