Day 1
  Arrival transfer to your Pyramids area hotel.
Option to upgrade to a Pyramids view room.
Day 2

A day to remember! Visit the ancient capital of Memphis, the enduring monuments of Sakkara, prototypes for ancient Egypt's most enduring architectural legacy the Pyramids.  Explore the sand strewn temples and tombs before travelling to the Pyramids of Giza and the mysterious Sphinx, sights that are both magnificent and awe inspiring. (B)
Day 3
Cairo - Luxor : NILE CRUISE

Fly to Luxor and board your Nile Cruise Boat.  After lunch begin exploring one of the worlds greatest open air museums - Thebes.  Visit the magnificent Luxor Temple, below the Avenue of the Sphinx to the Temple complex of Karnak.  The site comprises a vast mass of temples, chapels, pylons, shrines and intricately carved columns.  It is a gigantic and imposing monument showcasing precious relics of ancient Egyptian Dynasties. Day 4
Luxor - Esna - Edfu : NILE CRUISE

Cross the Nile to the West Bank.  Today is full of highlights including the Necropolis of Thebes and the Valley of the Kings, where you'll find the tombs of the Theban Rulers including Tutankhamen.  Visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and see the famed Colossi of Memmon facing the Nile.  This afternoon sail to Esna and cross the lock.  (B,L,D)

Day 5
Edfu - Kom Ombo - Aswan : NILE CRUISE

Today visit Edfu where remains from the Old Kingdom can be viewed as well as the Temple of Horus and houses of the Byzantine period.  Sail to Kom Ombo and visit Kom Ombo Temple, which was shared by the two gods Sobek and Haroeris.  See the beautiful murals, bas relief and fine views of the river.  Continue to Aswan. Day 6

Visit the Aswan Dams at the end of Lake Nasser, the re-sited and beautifully restored Temple of Philae dedicated to the god Isis and the granite quarries which provided stone for Karnak and Luxor Temples.  Later sail by felucca around the lush islands of Aswan. (B,L,D)
Day 7
Aswan - Cairo

Disembark from your cruise after one last breakfast and fly back to the capital and transfer to your city hotel, conveniently located in the centre of Cairo. Remainder of day at leisure. (B)
Day 8

Marvel at the glittering treasures of Tutankhamen on your tour of the Egyptian Museum. Later visit the towering Citadel, the Mohamed Ali Mosque, the vibrant Khan El Khalili Bazaar and the Hanging Church. (B)
Day 9

Departure transfer to the airport. (B)
Abu Simbel Detour

Option to include a day or overnight visit to Abu Simbel before flying back to Cairo.  The two temples of Abu Simbel are amongst the most magnificent monuments in the world and considered a must-see by all those who visit Egypt.  With our local representative's local office in Abu Simbel you will benefit from fantastic back up and local knowledge

    (b) Cruise itineraries are subject to change due to operation of Nile locks. The Esna Lock closes periodically throughout the year, the timing being under Egyptian Government control - so beyond the control of Innovative Travel and its agents. Cruise boats are not permitted to travel between Luxor & Esna during this closure, so sightseeing will be operated by coach from Esna.
