  Experience the blend of the best of Roman, Egyptian and Nabatean civilisations in this journey through Egypt and Jordan.  Beginning in Cairo with the Pyramids of Giza, before cruising on the fabulous Nile River.  Travel through the Pharaonic periods exploring the temples of Karnak and Luxor, the burial grounds of the Valley of the Kings and Howard Carter's House.  Continue to Jordan and be transported to Lawrence of Arabia's Wadi Rum.  Explore the lost Nabataean city of Petra as well as Jordan's biblical and crusader heritage.

Day 1
  Welcome to Egypt.  Upon arrival in Cairo you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your Pyramids area hotel.  Remainder of the day at leisure to rest and admire the spectacular Pyramid views from your hotel.
Day 2
  Awake in the shadows of the Pyramids.  Today explore the sole survivors of the seven wonders of the Ancient World - the Pyramids and come face to face with the mystical Sphinx.  Continue to the ancient capital of Memphis and visit the Step Pyramids of Sakkara. (B)
Day 3
  History is brought back to life today on your tour of the Egyptian Museum with your specialists Egyptologist guide.  Marvel at the golden treasures of Tutankhamun, including his jewel encrusted sarcophagus.  This afternoon visit Mohammed Ali Mosque & the Citadel dominating Cairo's skyline.  Later join the hustle and bustle of Khan El Khalii Bazaar. (B)
Day 4
Cairo - Aswan
  This morning depart Cairo and fly to the natural beauty of Nubian Aswan.  Sail in a felucca around the lush islands of Aswan and view the Agha Khan Mausoleum.  This afternoon board your Nile Cruise Ship, your base for the next 4 nights as you journey down the Nile.  Visit the Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, the High Dam, the Old Dam and the 'unfinished Obelisk' lying in the ancient granite quarries of Aswan. (B, L, D)
Day 5
Aswan - Kom Ombo - Edfu
  Discover the lifeblood of Egypt as you cruise the Nile visiting Kom Ombo - the crocodile inspired temple with its stunning bas relief - and the Temple of Horus, one of the best preserved temples of the Greco-Roman era. (B, L, D)
Day 6
Edfu - Luxor
  Leisurely morning cruising to Luxor.  This afternoon visit the magnificent Luxor Temple, built in the 14th century by two Kings - Amenophis III and Ramses II.  Follow the Avenue of the Sphinx to the Kanark Temple complex and gaze in awe at this imposing monument housing precious relics of Ancient Egyptian dynasties. (B, L, D)
Day 7

Today cross to the West Bank and visit Thebes Necropolis and the burial ground of the Pharaohs - the Valley of the Kings - where Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922.  Proceed to the nearby mortuary temple of Hatchesput and the Colossi of Memnon facing the Nile.  Explore the myriad of tombs and temples before returning to your cruise for a gala evening. (B, L, D)
Day 8
Luxor - Amman
  From one ancient civilisation to another.  Today fly from Luxor to Amman to begin your exploration of Jordan.  On arrival into Amman you will be transferred to your hotel. (B)
Sharm El Sheikh and St. Catherines
  Option to fly to Sharm El Sheikh for a few days of relaxation by the Red Sea or to include a visit to St. Catherine's Monastery.
Day 9
Amman - Kings Highway - Petra
  Drive along the King's Highway, a scenic and ancient road connecting Amman with the Red Sea coast.  This is one of the world's longest used trading routes which passes through the biblical lands of the Ammonites, Moabites and Edomites.  Visit Mount Nebo's Promised Land church, the spectacular Holy Land mosaic at Madaba and Kerak's Crusader Castle.  Continue to Petra. (B)
Day 10
  Enter into one of the world's architectural wonders - the Rose Red City of Petra, hewn out of solid rock by ancient Nabateans.  Walk through the Siq - a narrow and winding fissure between the cliffs - to reach the stunning Treasury building and the many temples and tombs spread across this immense site, hidden for centuries from the outside world (B)
Optional visit to "Petra by Night" or join an evening cooking class at "Petra Kitchen".

Day 11
Petra - Wadi Rum
  Explore the dramatic desert landscape of Wadi Rum by jeep and experience a magical night under the stars in a desert camp. (B)
Day 12
Wadi Rum - Dead Sea
  Today drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth and experience the unique sensation of floating in the salt-rich water.  Overnight at the Dead Sea. (B)
Day 13
Dead Sea - Amman
  Today departure transfer to Amman Airport (approximately 90 minutes driving time). (B)
