Day 1 - Thursday


  Welcome to Turkey. On arrival in Istanbul, you will be met by our friendly local representative and transferred to your hotel. This evening join a welcome briefing and meet your fellow travel companions.
Day 2 -  Friday
  Today discover the wonders of Istanbul. Visit Topkapi Palace, the Hippodrome, the awe-inspiring Blue Mosque famous for its beautiful blue tiles, and St. Sophia Church. This afternoon experience the atmosphere, smells & sounds of the Grand Bazaar, the world's largest and oldest covered market, spreading over 60 streets. (B)
Tonight option to join a belly dancing dinner show.
Day 3 - Saturday

Istanbul  - Gallipoli - Dardanelles - Canakkale

  Embark on a morning drive to the historic Gallipoli Peninsula. Visit Anzac Cove, Lone Pine Cemetery and Chunuk Bair. Bid farewell to the WWI battlegrounds and continue across the Dardanelles to Canakkale. (B,D)
Day 4 - Sunday

Canakkale - Troy - Pergamum - Izmir

  This morning visit the ancient city of Troy, the setting of the legendary Trojan War with its famous Wooden Horse. Continue to a traditional village and share a meal with locals – the best way to experience the hospitality of Turkish people. This afternoon, continue to Pergamum and visit the ancient Asclepion Medical Centre. (B,L,D)
Day 5 - Monday

Ephesus - St Mary's House - Izmir

  Today explore ancient Ephesus and stroll through some 2,000 year-old marble streets; capture the historic significance of the Library of Celsius and Hadrian's Temple. Continue to St. Mary's stone cottage, where it is believed Virgin Mary spent her last years accompanied by St. John. End your day in a variety of colours & textures with a visit to a regional rug production centre before returning to Izmir. (B)
Day 6 - Tuesday

Izmir - Pamukkale

  Today discover one of the most amazing sites in Turkey – the 'Cotton Fortress' of Pamukkale. Here, over time, hot mineral water springs have sculpted the mountain into a cascade of basins of dazzling whiteness. Afternoon is at leisure to immerse yourself in the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel's thermal pool or explore the city at your own pace. (B,D)
Day 7 - Wednesday
Pamukkale - Bodrum
  Bid farewell to the exceptional natural site of Pamukkale and locate the ancient ruins of Hierapolis (2nd century BC) including its necropolis with hundreds of tombs. Continue to the charming coastal town of Bodrum. Visit the Castle of St. Peter, built in the XV century by the knights of Rhodes, and the renowned Underwater Museum of Bodrum. (B)
Day 8 - Thursday
  Day at leisure to relax, swim or perhaps explore the local markets. (B,D)
Or optional day trip to Kos Island.
Day 9 - Friday
Bodrum - Antalya
  Embark on morning drive to the radiant Antalya, en-route visiting the archaeological site of ancient Termessos. (B,D)
Day 10 - Saturday
Perge - Aspendos - Antalya
  This morning visit Perge and the ancient city of Aspendos, renown for having the best-preserved theatre of antiquity. Afternoon at leisure to explore the jewels of local architecture – fine carved woodwork, mosques, and the vibrant markets of Antalya's Old Town. (B,D)
Day 11 - Sunday
Antalya - Konya - Cappadocia
  Early morning departure and travel via the Taurus Mountains to Konya. Visit the Mausoleum of the Sufi philosopher Mevlana, former dervish lodge of the Mevlevi order, better known as the Whirling Dervishes. Later, continue to Cappadocia, the land of the fairy chimneys. En-route, visit a 13th century caravanserai and the underground city of Saratli, one of the many underground settlements built for protection and religious reasons. (B,D)
Day 12 - Monday
  Optional early morning hot air balloon trip – experience floating through volcanic valleys, fairy chimneys and caves at sunrise.
Today explore the marvellous landscapes of Cappadocia. Visit Goreme, a historical region of Turkey located among rock formations, which was first settled back in the roman period. As Christianity was then the prevailing religion, many rock churches & monasteries have been preserved throughout the years and can still be explored today. Continue to the town of Avanos, renowned for its high quality earthenware. Other highlights also include Pasabagi, Red Valley and a brief regional pottery workshop in a cave. (B,D)
Tonight join an optional Whirling Dervishes performance.
Day 13 - Tuesday
Cappadocia - Ankara
  Morning drive through the salt lake area to Turkey's capital, Ankara. Fruit of the work of European urban planners, Ankara is a city in the middle of the steppe, with its wide avenues, parks, lakes and remains from the Byzantine era scattered though the city. This
afternoon, visit Ataturk Mausoleum and the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, a historic caravanserai holding artefacts up to 7500 year-old, including the most extensive and valuable collection of Hittite treasures in the world. (B,D)
Day 14 - Wednesday
Ankara - Istanbul

This morning depart on a scenic drive to Istanbul.  Afternoon at leisure for your last minute shopping or option to join an afternoon cruise on the Bosphorus, plus visit to the Spice Market. Farewell dinner tonight. (B,D)

Day 15 - Thursday
Istanbul departure
  Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
