Our Small Group Charming Turkey Tour offers a chance to see all the top tourist attractions of Turkey, whilst travelling with at a relaxed pace with a small group of people.  Highlights include visits to Istanbul (where the East meets the West), Canakkale and Gallipoli, Kusadasi, Ephesus, the cotton candy white limestone terraces of Pamukkale, Cappadocia with its caves and weird rock formations, Konya (known for the Whirling Dervishes) and the UNESCO World Heritage town of Safranbolu.  And of course, time to experience the shopping and handicrafts along the way.

Day 1 - Monday

Arrival Transfer to your hotel

Day 2- Tuesday


After breakfast explore Istanbul, visiting Topkapi Palace, St. Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and Grand Bazaar. Tonight have an authentic Turkish dinner followed by the famous Maras Ice Cream in the lively Kumpaki Gypsy district. (B,D)

Day 3- Wednesday
Istanbul - Gallipoli  - Troy - Assos

  Morning departure for Gallipoli. Visit Anzac Cove, Nek, Chunuk Bair, Lone Pine and the 57th Regiment Memorial before crossing the Dardanelles to visit legendary Troy. Overnight in Assos. (B,D)

Day 4- Thursday
Assos - Pergamum – Kusadasi

  Cross the Ida Mountains to Pergamum. Visit the Asklepion which was both a healing centre and a sanctuary dedicated to Aesklepios. Continue to Kusadasi for overnight. (B,D)

Day 5- Friday

Ephesus - Sirince - Kusadasi

  After breakfast there is a short drive to Ephesus, explore its marbled streets, amphitheatre and the Temple of Hadrian. Take the opportunity to discover and understand the rich history behind local handicrafts such as handmade carpets and tiles. Lunch in a nomadic tent in Selcuk to taste Turkish Gozleme. Continue to the village of Sirince where you can wander and discover this village, considered to be one of the most beautiful in Turkey. Later return to Kusadasi. (B,L,D)

Day 6- Saturday
Kusadasi - Bodrum

  Visit the Castle of Bodrum which hosts one of the best under water collections in the world and the ruins of King Mausolu's tomb. (B,D)

Day 7- Sunday
Bodrum – Pamukkale

  Optional morning gullet cruise on the Aegean Sea and afternoon driving to Pamukkale through the meandering plains and cotton farms. (B,D)

Day 8 - Monday
Pamukkale - Hierapolis - Konya

  Admire the beauty of the limestone cascades and visit ancient Hierapolis. Continue to Konya en-route visiting of Mevlana Whirling Dervishes. (B)

Day 9 - Tuesday
Konya - Cappadocia

Drive to Cappadocia via Seljuk – a fine example of an ancient Silk Road Caravanserai. Upon arrival taste local wines and join a cooking class to learn about Turkish cuisine. (B,L,D)

Day 10 - Wednesday

  After breakfast begin your Cappadocia discovery including visits to the Kaymakli Underground City, Open Air Museum in Goreme and natural fortress in Uchisar. Lunch in a cave restaurant to taste the famous pottery kebab. (B,L)
Optional: Turkish folklore evening is available.

Day 11 - Thursday
Cappadocia - Ankara - Safranbolu

Morning departure for Safranbolu. On the way, stop at Ankara to visit the Mausoleum of Ataturk and the Museum in Ankara. Continue to Safranbolu, a UNESCO World Heritage Town renowned for its Ottoman architecture and preservation of Turkish culture and lifestyle. Tonight your accommodation is an old ottoman mansion. (B,D)

Day 12 - Friday
Safranbolu - Istanbul

After breakfast visit the town of Safranbolu where walking along the old narrow cobbled streets, you will see some of the traditional crafts and trades that are still practised today. Taste fine samples of Turkish Delights, before continuing the drive to Istanbul. (B)

Day 13 - Saturday

  Departure transfer to the airport. (B)
