Day 1   Verona - Sirmione
Travel from Venice to Verona by train and start discovering Romeo and Juliet's town. Verona is much more than Piazza Bra and the Arena, Piazza Erbe and Piazza dei Signori; visit a mosaic maker's workshop to admire a craftsman at work. In the afternoon, take a trip by train to Sirmione and enjoy the town from a different point of view on board a motorboat that will take you to Punta San Vigilio, the very tip of a long peninsula protruding into the lake where Sir Winston Churchill recovered in the aftermath of war, painting the surrounding landscape.
Day 2

There is no place like Padua to learn about man's achievements in the fields of science, technology, culture and innovation: Palazzo Bò is home to the world's oldest permanent anatomy theatre and to Galileo Galilei's desk and chair; the Botanical Garden, acknowledged by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site; the Caffè Pedrocchi nicknamed "Café without doors" and the Scrovegni Chapel by Giotto, a unique cycle of frescoes with unparalleled wall decorations. Padua is reachable in only one hour by train from Verona.

Day 3   Mantua
On a day tour by train, visit a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site once ruled by the Gonzaga Family: Mantua, a town of indescribable beauty and a real art jewel. The town's highlight is the Palazzo Ducale, with Mantegna's spectacular Bridal Chamber. Enjoy some Mantuan specialties like tortelli di zucca (pumpkin-filled pasta), the "menà" risotto, pike in sauce and the sbrisolona cake.
Day 4   Sigurtà Park & Garden - Milan

A private car will pick you up from your hotel to take you to Sigurtà Park&Garden, on the way you will stop at a winery for a visit and wine tasting. Spend the rest of the day at Sigurtà Park, its botanical garden and the magnificent views make it one of the world's most beautiful parks. Not far is the Ponte Visconteo, an extraordinary fortified dam built in the village of Borghetto with imposing water mills that seem to caress the river. At lunch time, enjoy the famous tortellino di Valeggio, a thin layer of pasta with a delicate filling still hand made by the local ladies. At the end of the afternoon you will be taken back to Verona where you will board the train to Milan.

Day 5   Cremona
Arrive in Cremona by train.  This town has become synonymous with violins worldwide.  In addition to visiting its medieval centre, you will meet a violin maker who will show you his workshop and how a violin is made.  However, to understand the true spirit of Cremona you need to taste one of the culinary specialities of the Cremonese cuisine, in particular mostarda (pickled fruit with mustard) and toronne (nougat).  Return to Milan by train at the end of the day.
Day 6   Monferrato Wine Area

Travel by train to Vercelli, the rice area located south-west of Milan where you will visit a rice farm, the fields and the production laboratory. You will see where the "mondine" lived, they were young girls who spent their days with feet in the water pulling weeds. After lunch at the farm with the typical rice dish, a private car will take you to the Monferrato through a landscape of sweet hills dotted with vineyards and castles. You will visit a winery and an "Infernot", underground caves dug in the sand stone used to preserve wines.

Day 7   Lake Como
Reach by train the charming village of Varenna on Lake Como: take a stroll along the lake shore and do not miss the opportunity to buy the olive oil produced in the area. Take the boat to Bellagio admiring the lake's unspoiled landscapes and its banks filled with luxuriant vegetation. You can experience an unusual wine tasting session at a cafè in Bellagio on three levels representing Paradise, Purgatory and Hell; the wines will match the atmosphere of each floor. Visit the beautiful Melzi d'Eril Gardens and at the end of the afternoon, take the boat back to Varenna and the train to Milan
Day 8   Milan

This is your departure day but before leaving Milan, spend some time at the covered market of S. Maria del Suffragio which has been recently revived thanks to the commitment of some well-known entrepreneurs in the field of culinary excellence. You will sit in a colorful location with a casual atmosphere and modern design to sample fruit smoothies, vegetarian food, fresh fish, pizzas, cold cuts and cheese and natural ice cream
