Day 1 - Sunday
|
Arrive in Santa Margherita and transfer to your hotel. Please plan to arrive early in the day, as you will be meeting your trip leader and travelling companions at 2.30 pm for a warm-up hike to Portofino. A formal group orientation will be held this evening before dinner. 2 nights in Santa Margherita. Dinner.

Day 2 - Monday
|
After breakfast a full day of seaside cliff hiking from Camogli to Portofino, viewing the 13th century Abbey of San Fruttuoso and the pastel coloured houses of Portofino. Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 3 - Tuesday
|
Transfer by train to the resort town of Levanto, the start of the walk to Monterosso (the first of the famed Cinque Terre villages). On arrival check into your hotel in the old centre of the village. Free time prior to a tasting of regional wines and local produce at a nearby agriturismo. Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 4 - Wednesday
|
Hike along the ancient footpath joining the 5 villages. For those who want to take their time it is possible for the guide to help you arrange a train or ferry back to Monterosso. Tonight you will have a casual and fun cooking demonstration before dinner. Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 5 - Thursday
|
Farewell Monterosso before taking the train to Riomaggiore, the start of your hike to Portovenere. Check into your hotel, and enjoy a free evening. Dinner not included tonight, so you have the choice of finding your own restaurant. Breakfast.

Day 6 - Friday
|
Boat ride around Palmaria Island to the smaller islands of Tino and Tinetto. Both Islands and Portovenere itself were elected UNESCO World Heritage sides in 1997 for their beauty and historical importance. Walk round the island, returning to Portovenere mid afternoon for free time before dinner. Farewell dinner at one of the lively marina restaurants. Breakfast & Dinner.

Day 7 - Saturday
|
After breakfast, the tour ends with a private transfer to the La Spezia train station, arriving around 9.45 am. Please do not schedule rail departures prior to 10.00 am. Breakfast included.
