We travelled on a Sail/Cycle Croatia Island Hopping tour in early June 2011. We just loved the holiday. For us it was the perfect mix of exercise, relaxation, with culture and heritage thrown in.Our daily cycle trips were 25-35 kms, which given the fact that each trip starts at sea level, and the countryside is undulating, was plenty, when you add in a couple of stops (or more) to take photos, and of course an obligatory coffee stop. The boat we travelled on, the Magellan, was new and very well appointed. The guides were a good mix of efficient and fun-loving. We thoroughly enjoyed the small-group touring aspect.
There was plenty of opportunity to do things alone, together as a couple, or with the rest of the group. There was a lot of friendly rivalry and bantering among the different nationalities on board thorough out the trip, which culminated in a concert on the last night. The “English” contingents’ version of “My Way” was magnificent – well we thought so anyway!

Gradings
Lifestyle tours are graded to distinguish the appropriate fitness and expertise required to participate. Every tour is an individual just like you. By studying the itinerary in detail you will see the duration and/or distance covered each day. This can help you assess if the tour is within your limits.
Many tours will have support vehicles that allow you to rest at selected drop out points, however this is terrain dependent and varies from tour to tour. If in doubt drop us an email, tell us what you are looking for and we can assist you with your tour selection.
Grade 1/2 - Easy Tours
Easy tours are specifically designed to allow you to experience a new activity and culture in a relaxed environment. If you’re after a peaceful holiday with a light introductory focus on one or more activities then easy tours are a great option. Routes chosen will be easy and often ridden entirely at your own pace, suitable for families.
Fitness Required: A low level of fitness is required, exercising at least once a week prior to the tour.
Grade 3/4 - Moderate Tours
Moderate Tours have an expectation that you have an interest and possibly some experience in the activities. Routes chosen will require a reasonable level of fitness and experience on different terrains, suitable for increasing your abilities and pushing new limits.
Fitness Required: An average level of fitness is required; you will need to be doing some form of exercise two-three times a week on the build up to this tour
