Cairo Update as at 21 November 2011 Following the fall of the Mubarak regime in Egypt, the country is gradually heading towards democracy, with a new constitution being written.  Innovative Travel is in the fortunate position in that our Cairo based business partner, Elhamy ElZayat (NZ Order of Merit) is one of the 100 Egyptians who have been selected to write this very important document.  In addition the head office is located directly in Tahir Square, which provides a wonderful and immediate strategic overview of the Square. Our local partners have been in business for over 35 years and have a very successful safety record; we therefore plan to continue operating all Ancient Kingdoms Holidays to Egypt.  While Egypt is gearing towards a new future, their people are experiencing new found freedoms which include the right to demonstrate.  As such we anticipate that from time to time, there maybe some demonstrations in Tahir Square, generally these will be on a Friday.  Our main concern during demonstrations is the interruption to traffic flow.  Therefore any itineraries for the foreseeable future, will locate clients either out by the pyramids, for Pyramids sightseeing or on Nile Cruise etc on a Friday. Due to the flexibility of our programme, this is easily able to be organized.   Clients will continue to benefit from the superb local knowledge provided by our 8 offices located in all key areas including: Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Alexandria, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada with full time representatives also based at Cairo Airport.
