6 day cruise 05 - 10 July 2015
Bordeaux - Pauillac - Blaye - Cadillac - Saint Emilion - Bordeaux

Day 1: Bordeaux
Board the cruise boat
Day 2: Bordeaux - Pauillac
Visit to the Medoc - a  prestigious wine-growing region known for it's red wines - following the famous 'Castles Road'. An opportunity to see the "must see" appellations such as Saint Julien, Margaux and Haut-Medoc.  Included is a stop at one of the castles to taste the famous wines of the region
Day 3: Pauillac - Gironde Estuary - Blaye 
Excursion along the narrow and picturesque Corniche Cliff Route which runs along the Dordogne before opening out onto the Gironde Estuary.  Stop in the delightful village of Bourg - build on a rocky outcrop surrounded by medieval ramparts.   Return to Blaye to visit the UNESCO listed Citadel of Blaye which overlooks the Gironde River
Day 4: Blaye - Cadillac - St. Emilion
Morning cruising followed by an afternoon tour to St. Emilion.  Take a guided tour of the underground monuments and get a feel for the history of the medieval town.  Included is a visit of an exceptional troglodytic site - the cave of the town founder, trinity chapel, the catacombs and the Monolithic church hewn entirely in the limestone.  Next visit a family owned wine growing estate for an explanation of the stages of the wine making process followed by a wine tasting.
Day 5:  Cadillac - Bordeaux
Cruising time followed by a guided tour of Bordeaux. Bordeaux is  UNESCO World Heritage listed site.  Half of the city, from the boulevards to the banks of the Garonne has been recognised for the quality of its architectural heritage.  First enjoy a panoramic tour of the city by bus  to take in the main monuments, followed by a walking tour of 'old' Bordeaux.  From the wide avenues of the neo classical Les Quinconces quarter and the Grand Theatre to the narrow lanes of the Saint Pierre quarter, the walking tour gives a good overview of the diversity of Bordeaux's Heritage.  Gala dinner on board.
Day 6:  Bordeaux
