 Valleys of the Rhone/Saone & Paul Bocuse Gastronomic Cruise


 Land, wine, culture and gastronomy - this cruise has it all.  A tour highlight will be dinner at the Abbey in Collognes - Paul Bosuse's Temple of gastronomy.  This cruise also allows you to discover the fine Côte du Rhône and Beaujolais vineyards, and the historic towns of Lyon, Vienne, Mâcon, Tain l'Hermitage.

Day 1


Board in Lyon around 6 pm at the Claude Bernard Quay and settle into your cabin. Introduction to the crew over a welcome cocktail before dinner on board and an evening of entertainment. Moor for the night.

Day 2



Set off on your cruise early this morning and have buffet breakfast on board as you cruise along the Rhône Valley, passing the vineyards of the Côte Rôtie, Condrieu, Château Grillet and St Joseph. Lunch on board and arrive around 2 pm in Tain l'Hermitage, where the best known of the local wines, the renowned Hermitage vineyards, are located on the hill overlooking the town. This hill is topped by the Chapelle St Christophe which seems to stand guard at the entrance to the valley, and offers panoramic views over the town and vineyards. Take the opportunity to join a wine tasting in one of the fine wine cellars, where you can taste some of the famous wines of the region. Return to the boat for dinner and an evening of music and dancing. Moor for the night.

Day 3



Sail early towards Vienne. Buffet breakfast as you cruise and arrive in Vienne shortly afterwards.  Guided walking tour of Vienne. The richness and diversity of its history have elevated Vienne to become one of the top towns of art and history. Set sail again around 11 am and continue your cruise to Lyon. Lunch on board and arrive in Lyon in the early afternoon, where you have free time or take a guided visit around the city. Afterwards, you return on board and set sail to our next stop – beside the "Paul Bocuse" restaurant at Collonges au Mont d'Or. Make the journey by coach to the "Abbaye de Collonges" (1), the large and impressive reception hall of Paul Bocuse. Here you are served a dinner in the purest French culinary tradition, in the Grand Limonaire room of the abbey, accompanied by music from a lovingly restored organ dating from 1900. Return on board around midnight.

Day 4



During the night, the boat sets sail for Macon. Buffet breakfast on board and arrive in Macon shortly afterwards. Here have free time to visit the heart of the city, whose old quarter is dotted with fine old town houses and mansions. We return on board at the end of the morning and continue our cruise to Belleville, Excursion into the Beaujolais vineyards: Morgon, Villé, Brouilly and many more. Stop at the famous Hameau du Vin, a state-of-the-art wine museum unique in Europe.   During our excursion, the ship continues cruising to Trévou. Your cruise continues towards Lyon. Tonight have a  Gala dinner and evening of entertainment on board. At the end of the evening, arrive in Lyon in time to admire the beautifully illuminated façades of the buildings that line the banks of the River Saône. Moor for the night in Lyon.

Day 5 LYON

Buffet breakfast on board before disembarking around 9 am. End of CroisiEurope's services.
