 A short cruise of discovery from the canal and flowers of Amsterdam, through Holland along the Rhine to Strasbourg.  Cruise past the historic city of Cologne, taking in the spectacular scenery, vineyards and castles which dominate the landscape.  Visit the romantic towns of Rudesheim and Heidelberg enroute to Strasbourg.

Itinerary
   
     
Day 1   AMSTERDAM

 

Boarding around 1.00 pm in Amsterdam. Lunch on board. Settling into your cabin. Set out to explore the Dam with our hostess. Back to the boat by 6.00 pm. Welcome cocktail, presentation of the crew. Dinner on board. Then tour the old city in a motor launch

     
Day 2   AMSTERDAM
   

Breakfast on board. In the morning, a guided tour of Amsterdam in the historic heart of this beautiful capital city, full of historic and architectural treasures. You will discover the striking contrast between monuments heavy with Dutch memories. Back to the boat for lunch. The afternoon will be devoted to a visit to the Keukenhof Gardens (open from 22/03 to 20/05). You will see the harmonious disposition of the flower beds: tulips, narcissi and hyacinths amid trees hundreds of year old. In the other months, excursions to Volendam and the Zaanse Schans. Back to the boat for dinner. Free evening or trip to the city centre for a stroll around the Red Light District. Overnight stopover.

     
Day 3   AMSTERDAM – NIJMEGEN – KREFELD
   

Departure of the boat in the early morning heading for Nijmegen. Breakfast on board. Stopover in Nijmegen. Free time or guided tour of the Kröller Müller museum (except Mondays): set in the Hoge Veluwe National Park, this museum houses a collection of works by the great names of modern painting and sculpture. A large collection of Van Goghs rubs shoulders with works by Picasso and the Impressionists. (On Mondays, tour of the Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem). Back on board for lunch and continuation of the cruise to Krefeld. We will pass by the towns of Wesel and Duisburg. Lunch and dinner during the cruise. Arrival late in the evening. Stopover.

     
Day 4   KREFELD – COLOGNE – KÖNIGSWINTER
   

Departure around 8.00 am. Breakfast on board. We will pass Düsseldorf (the capital of Rhineland–Westphalia) – Zons (a medieval town) to reach Cologne around 3.00 pm.  2-hour stop when you will be free to explore the old town in the company of our hostess. Departure of the cruise around 6.00 pm. We will pass Bonn, an old university city. Lunch and dinner on board. Arrival in Königswinter towards the end of the evening. Overnight stopover. Free evening.

     
Day 5  

KÖNIGSWINTER – RUDESHEIM

   

Breakfast on board. We will pass by the city of Koblenz. Sailing along the most beautiful section of the Romantic Rhine. Throughout this cruise, you will be able to see numerous castles amid the famous vineyards and the celebrated Rock of the Lorelei. Lunch on board. Arrival at Rudesheim. Free time or excursion. Dinner on board. Free evening in the celebrated Drosselgasse, known throughout the world for its restaurants and bands. Overnight stopover.

     
Day 6   RUDESHEIM – SPIRE or MANNHEIM or KARLSRUHE

 

Breakfast on board. Departure of the boat early in the morning to cruise up the Rhine to Spire. We will pass the towns of Wiesbaden, Nierstein and Worms. Arrival in Mannheim around 1.00 pm. After lunch, excursion to Heidelberg. Back on board at the end of the afternoon. Dinner and gala evening on board. Departure towards Strasbourg.

     
Day 7   STRASBOURG
   

Breakfast on board. Arrival in Strasbourg around 9.00 am. End of our journey.

Please note Croisi cruises are bilingual with on board commentaries in both French & English. Sightseeing tours are guaranteed in English with either bilingual guides or audiphones.
