Travel from the North Sea to the Mediterranean and visit the hidden treasures of Holland, Germany and France.  This new programme combining two cruises takes you on a voyage of discovery.  Learn all about the rich architectural and cultural diversities offered by two mighty rivers - The romantic Rhine and the Rhone - as you travel along their historical and legendary paths.

Itinerary

Day 1

AMSTERDAM

  Board in Amsterdam between 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm.  Welcome cocktail and dinner, followed by a visit of Amsterdam old town by glass-covered river boat.
   
Day 2 AMSTERDAM
 

Take a guided tour of Amsterdam, admiring the rich architectural heritage from the 17th and 18th centuries and its unique character.  After lunch tour Haarlem.

   
Day 3 AMSTERDAM - XANTEN - DUSSELDORF
 

Cruise down the Rhine passing the towns of Nijmegen and Arnhem.  Depart by coach to the historic town of Aachen.  Visit Aachen Cathedral - home to Charlemagne, the Treasury, the 'Cross of Lorraine' and the 'Bust of Charlemagne'.  Continue to Dusseldorf.

   
Day 4 DUSSELDORF - COLOGNE - KÖNIGSWINTER - KOBLENZ
 

Cruise to Cologne.  Morning tour of Cologne, cross-roads of Europe since the Middle Ages.  Visit the magnificent Gothic Cathedral, the old town and view the neo-Gothic buildings, home of the famous Eau de Cologne.  Continue cruising to Koblenz.  After dinner stroll to the famous 'Deutsches Eck' (or German Corner).

   
Day 5 KOBLENZ - MAINZ - WORMS
 

Cruise back up the loveliest part of the Rhine, the Romantic Rhine, with its many castles, legends and the Lorelei Rock of myth.  After lunch arrive in Mainz.  Visit the Gutenberg Museum, the world's finest museum for printing equipment, materials and books.  Gala dinner on board tonight.  Cruise through the night to Strasbourg.

   
Day 6 STRASBOURG - coach transfer - BESANCON - CHALON SUR SAONE

After breakfast disembark round 9.00 am and board the coach to Besançon a charming city renowned for its architecture and history. After lunch depart on a walking tour of the historical landmarks: Granvelle Palace, The square Castan, the dark gate, St Jean cathedral and the UNESCO world heritage Citadel. Continue to Chalons-Sur-Saone and board around 5.30 pm.  Settle into your cabin followed by a welcome cocktail and crew presentation. Dinner on board is followed by an evening of music and dancing. We continue our cruise through the night.

   
Day 7
LYON - TOURNON
  Take a panoramic tour of Old Lyon on the confluence of the Rhone and Saone Rivers.  Lunch on board before continuing to Tournon, gently cruising along the Rhone Valley and passing the vineyards of the Cote Rôtie, Condrieu, Chateau Grillet and St. Joseph.
   
Day 8
TOURNON - ARLES
  Visit Tournon by tourist train, travelling along the narrow alleyway taking you back to the Middle Ages and visit the imposing castle of Tournon.  Conclude the tour with a tasting of regional products and wines.  Afternoon cruise to Arles en route, pass the towns of Valence, Montélimar and Viviers.
   
Day 9
ARLES - AVIGNON
  Explore the cultural city of Arles and its remarkable well preserved Roman Arena before heading into the hinterland to learn about the production of Provencal olive oil.  This afternoon visit the 'City of the Popes' and the fortified Palace of Avignon, a veritable citadel overlooking the city.  Gala dinner tonight.
   
Day 10
AVIGNON
  After buffet breakfast on board disembark at 9.00 am
   
 

This itinerary is a guide only. For reasons of navigational safety, the captain and crew of the boat alone may decide to modify the itinerary.

Please note Croisi cruises are bilingual with on board commentaries in both French & English. Sightseeing tours are guaranteed in English with either bilingual guides or audiphones.
