Day 1: Hanoi

Welcome to Vietnam. On arrival, please clear customs and immigration. In arrivals area, you will be met by a representative of our local agent and then transferred to your tour hotel (your hotel room is available from 1.30pm). Remainder of day at leisure. Your accommodation is reserved for two nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Hanoi (B)

This morning, take part in a fun treasure hunt in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Solve enigmas and complete challenges to find hidden objects as you meet the bemused inhabitants and sellers in the maze of narrow streets. This afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature and Ethnology Museum and take a cyclo tour around the Old city.

Day 3: Hanoi (B)

Continue exploring Hanoi's culture with the famous ethnology museum, then learn about the edible rice powder toys which play an important part of Vietnamese festivals. Later, return to your hotel for leisure time.

Day 4: Hanoi - Halong Bay (B L D)

This morning, travel to Ha Long and board your junk to begin your exploration of the thousands of karst limestone islands and islets of Halong Bay. Fresh seafood lunch and dinner will be served on board. The afternoon is at leisure to take a swim in the crystal waters of the bay (if weather permits), visiting a stunning cave among the mystic Bay and spend time to paddle your kayak in this emerald water.

Remark: Kayaking program may be changed depending on the weather conditions of the day.

Day 5: Halong Bay - Hanoi – Hue (B)

Wake up early in the morning to enjoy a spectacular dawn. After breakfast and maybe an early swim, the junk continues to cruise quietly through the spectacular limestone formations of Halong Bay. Visit Vung Vieng Fishing Village, meet with local people and pass through the floating school as well as fish farms. After disembarkation, transfer to Hanoi Airport for an evening flight to Hue. If time permits and to break the journey you will stop on the way to the airport to visit the 300 year old But Thap Pagoda. On arrival in Hue, transfer to your hotel.

Day 6: Hue (B)

This morning, take an easy bike ride to see Hue’s beautiful countryside. Cycle through a superb landscape of rice fields, visiting small villages along the way. This afternoon, visit the Imperial Palace and the Tomb of Tu Duc.

Day 7: Hue - Hoi An (B)

This morning, transfer to the Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda. Then, board a traditional sampan for a cruise up the placid river to the Tomb of Minh Mang. Later, departure for Hoi An via the scenic Hai Van Pass to view one of the most beautiful panoramas in Vietnam as you look out over the central coastline. Stop at the quiet, white sandy beach of Lang Co. Arrive in Hoi An late in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Hoi An (B)

Take a stroll through small streets of the town to explore two-century-old Chinese houses. Sites include the Japanese Bridge, the Chinese Temple, and Tan Ky trading house. In the afternoon, learn from local craftsmen the delicate art of silk lantern making, introduced to Vietnam centuries ago by the Chinese, and go home with your own creation. The rest of day is at your leisure to enjoy the beach or Hoi An town.

Day 9: Hoi An (B L)

Early departure for a day discovering Hoi An’s surrounding. Take a boat ride to the mouth of the river. From here, watch the daily activities of the local fishermen. Continue the boat ride for another 30 minutes to the fishing village and take a coracle (round basket boat) tour to the mangrove forest of coconut trees. Disembark in the late morning for a bike ride to visit the village of Tra Que (located 5 Km from Hoi An). Tra Que Village is known for its special aromatic herbs, mint and basil. Learn how to plant and water vegetables and how to cook some local specialities. After lunch return to Hoi An and spend the rest of day at leisure.

Day 10: Hoi An - Danang - Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Morning transfer to Danang Airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival, sightseeing tour of this dynamic metropolis. Visit the historic sites of the city including: the Old Post Office of Saigon, the Notre Dame cathedral, Dong Khoi Street and the Chinese District of Cho Lon with bustling Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Pagoda. In the afternoon, try to learn the art of sand painting and then spend time to create your own masterpiece! Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City (B L)

Morning drive to Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, embark a motor boat trip around Ben Tre River with several stops to visit a brick kiln, coconut fruits plantations and local families in Cai Son and Thanh Nhon channel who craft sleeping mats. Enjoy fresh fruit and green tea while relaxing at a local house. Continue the trip by bicycle or by motor cart and pass rice field. Lunch is at a local house. In the afternoon, take a rowing-boat along a small channel to a rice making workshop and then visit an ancient house. Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon.

Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
