Day 1

Hanoi Arrival
Arrival and welcome at Hanoi Airport. Transfer to check in at your hotel. Room is at your disposal from 13.30. Free time for relaxing. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2

Full day tour of Vietnam's capital city, including Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum (closed every Monday and Friday), his traditional stilt house and the revered One-Pillar Pagoda. After that, visit Vietnam's first university, the thousand-year-old Temple of Literature. In the afternoon, visit the Ethnology Museum where you can learn about the customs and culture of Vietnam's 54 diverse ethnic groups.  In the evening enjoy a traditional Water Puppet Performance – a unique Vietnamese Art form hailing from Southeast Asia's wet-rice culture. Note: Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum closes from 08 SEP - 08 NOV for annual maintenance.

Day 3

Hanoi - Halong Bay
Leave Hanoi this morning and head straight to Halong bay a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site with its 3,000 islands of towering limestone dotting the bay and Gulf of Tonkin (200 km – 4 hour driving). After arriving at noon, you will board a beautiful boat for an overnight cruise on Halong Bay with an excellent menu of fresh seafood. Overnight on board. (B,L,D
Day 4

Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy aquamarine water of the bay at its best. After tea break, the boat continues to cruise quietly through spectacular limestone formations of Halong Bay. Enjoy this more isolated bay's spectacular and unique islands of the bay. Return to Halong harbour after a brunch for transfer directly to Hanoi Airport for your flight to Hue. You will be met at Hue Airport and transferred to your hotel for check in. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 5

Hue city
At around 8 am, take a bicycle riding through winding path along Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda. On the way, visit a typical garden house, which was built according to precise rules of geomancy. After exploring the pagoda, board a boat trip to visit the Minh Mang Mausoleum. In the afternoon discover the Imperial Citadel and Dong Ba market. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 6

Hue - Danang - Hoi An

In the morning, depart (105 km – 2.5 hours driving) by car for Hoi An via the scenic Hai Van Pass, where we will enjoy the spectacular panorama of the central coastline from the summit. Stop at Lang Co to stretch your legs on the white sands of this peaceful beach. Upon arrival in Hoi An, check in your hotel.

In the afternoon, take a stroll to visit Hoi An town, recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage site because of its unusually well-preserved ancient streets and homes. Set out to explore the quaint cobblestone streets of the town with the more than two-century-old Chinese houses. Sites include the Japanese Bridge, the Chinese Temple, and Phung Hung Chinese-trading house. Spend the balance of day free at leisure. Overnight in Hoi An. (B)

Day at leisure to explore peaceful Hoi An Town and its beautiful beach as you wish. (B)

Day 8

Hoi An - Danang - Ho Chi Minh City
In the morning, transfer to Danang Airport for a morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Welcome at the airport and transfer to the city. Pay visits to some historic landmarks including the Old Saigon Post Office, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the War Remnants Museum and Dong Khoi Street. Check in at the hotel. Then visit the ethnic Chinese district of Cho Lon, especially Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Pagoda. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 9

Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta - Departure
Today we depart from Saigon to explore Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival at Ben Tre Town, take a motor boat trip around Ben Tre River with several stops to visit a nice brick kiln, coconut fruits processing and some families in Cai Son and Thanh Nhon channel who make sleeping mats. Enjoy fresh fruit and green tea while relaxing at a local house. Continue the trip by bicycle or by motor cart and pass rice field. Lunch is at a local house. In the afternoon, take a rowing-boat along a small channel to a rice making workshop and then visit an ancient house.

Back to the main road for a transfer back to Ho Chi Minh airport in the late afternoon for your departure flight. Dinner on your own. (B,L)
