Day 1

Ho Chi Minh City - Cai Be
Drive to Ben Tre before starting a ride along the Chet Say River.  Stop off at various local workplaces including a factory where coconut shells are turned into coconut charcoal, and a coconut processing workshop.  Next stop at a quite village to experience the real Mekong Delta village life: visit a mat weaving house (and even have a try at weaving yourself), followed by a farm, rice field and vegetable farm before lunch at a local house washed down with a cold drink or beer.
In the afternoon board a sampan for a relaxing trip along the narrow canals and a transfer to Cai Be late afternoon.  (L,D)

Day 2

Cai Be - Cai Thia - Hoa Loc - Cai Be
Cycle to Cai Thia - 20 km of easy cycling on a flat road and then take a local ferry boat to the opposite riverbank. Your ride today can be extended from 6 - 10 km for the more energetic.  View the mango plantations of Hoa Loc village, the houses made of wood and palm leaves, and observe the daily activities of the local people.  Take a boat ride to the island of An Binh where you will visit a typical house. Lunch is followed by a relaxing row boat trip on the small Cay Da canal. (B,L,D)

Day 3

Cai Be - Cai Lay - Can Tho
Explore the lush rice paddies and fruit farms of Cai Lay before boarding a charming wooden boat to experience the rustic scenery of life on the river.  Cycle for 15 km over easy,level terrain along narrow village lanes to the home of a fruit farmer.  After a walk around the orchard and a fresh fruit tasting, relax on a small sampan boat as you are paddled slowly along the tropical canals.  A short walk takes you back to the car for a transfer to Can Tho. Day 4

Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City
Transfer to Ninh Kieu Quay and board a private local boat for a cruise to the lively and colourful floating markets of Cai Rang.  Continue cruising southwest to a fruit garden where you will start a bike ride of 10 km along small shaded local village roads. Visit a traditional blacksmith family, cycle past nursery gardens and stop at local houses.  Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City in the evening. (BO
