Day 1

Hanoi arrival
Welcome to Vietnam. Meet, assist and transfer to your hotel

Day 2

This morning, take part in a fun treasure hunt in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Solves enigmas and complete challenges to find hidden objects as you meet the bemused inhabitants and sellers in the maze of narrow streets. This afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature and Ethnology Museum and take a cyclo tour around the Old city. (B)

Day 3

Hanoi - Ninh Giang - Hai Phong
Morning train to Ninh Giang, a peaceful farming village and the birthplace of the water puppets. See a puppet show performed by the locals and enjoy a lunch prepared by a local family. Later, drive to Hai Phong for overnight. (B, L) 
Day 4

Hai Phong - Halong Bay
Drive to Ha Long and board a wooden junk to begin your exploration of Halong Bay. Along the way, stop for a swim in the crystal clear water, explore Thien Canh Son Cave and kayak through the spectacular limestone islets. (B,L,D)

Day 5

Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue
Visit Vung Vieng fishing Village, meet with local people and see the floating school and fish farm. Later, disembark and transfer to Hanoi airport for your flight to Hue. Arrival transfer to your hotel. (B)

Day 6

This morning, take an easy bike ride to see Hue's beautiful countryside. Cycle through a superb landscape of rice fields, visiting small villages along the way. This afternoon, visit the Imperial Palace and the Tomb of Tu Duc. (B)

Day 7

Hue - Hoi An
Morning visit of Thien Mu Pagoda. Board a traditional sampan for a cruise up the placid Perfume River to the Tomb of Minh Mang. Later, depart for Hoi An via the scenic Hai Van Pass. (B)

Day 8

Hoi An
Stroll the quaint streets of Hoi An.  Then, learn from local craftsmen the delicate art of silk lantern making, introduced to Vietnam centuries ago by the Chinese, and go home with your own creation. The rest of day is at leisure to enjoy the beach or further explore Hoi An. (B)

Day 9

Hoi An Town
Morning boat trip to Cua Dai, to observe local fishermen in their daily activities. Then, board a coracle (a round basket boat) for a tour of a mangrove forest. Later, leisurely bike ride to Tra Que, a charming "vegetable village". Pick fresh vegetables and learn to cook local specialities. Afternoon at leisure to spend time at the beach. (B,L)

Day 10

Hoi An - Danang - Ho Chi Minh City
Transfer to Danang for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival, sightseeing tour of the Old Post Office, Notre Dame cathedral, Dong Khoi Street and the Chinese District. In the afternoon, learn the art of sand painting and create your own masterpiece! (B)

Day 11

Mekong Delta
Drive to Ben Tre and board a motor boat. Explore the Mekong Delta, stopping en route to visit a brick kiln, coconut plantations and local families. After lunch and tea at a local house, continue your discovery of the Mekong Delta by bike or by motor-cart, alongside rice fields and water canals. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City. (B,L)

Day 12

Ho Chi Minh City
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
