Day 1

Ho Chi Minh City
Welcome to Vietnam. Meet, assist and transfer to your hotel.
   
Day 2

Ho Chi Minh City
Your discovery of Vietnam's culinary delights begins with a first cooking class. After a stroll through the local market with a local chef to select your ingredients, prepare and savour lunch. Afternoon sightseeing of Ho Chi Minh City. (B, L)
   
Day 3


Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta
Drive to Cai Be and embark a private local boat to discover the Mekong Delta. Explore the quaint Cai Be floating market and sample fresh-picked exotic fruits from the many surrounding orchards. Disembarkation and, after lunch in a local orchid garden, transfer to Can Tho for overnight. (B, L)

   
Day 4



Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City - Hue
Early transfer to Ninh Kieu to board the Mystic Mekong boat for a cruise to the colourful floating markets of Cai Rang. Enter the labyrinth of channels and streams surrounding Can Tho and observe daily life on the river. Disembark and drive back to Ho Chi Minh City for your flight to Hue. Arrival transfer to your hotel. (B)

   
Day 5




Hue
This morning depart for an easy bike ride to the village of Phu Mong.  Visit the Xuan Vien Tieu Cung historical house and have a privileged moment with its friendly owner, Mrs Pham Thi Tuy.  She will share some of her interesting stories with you over a cup of tea.   Later return to Hue for lunch in a local restaurant.  Afternoon visit to Minh Mang Tomb and Dong Ba Market where your guide will introduce you to some typical local dishes. Day 6

Hue - Hoi An
Morning visit to the Thien Mu Pagoda on the Perfume River.  Later drive to Hoi An

   
Day 7




Hoi An - Tra Que - Hoi An
Morning cooking class at the Green Bamboo Cooking School.  With Van, your hostess and chef, you will pick fresh ingredients from Hoi An market.  Then learn from your chef the secrets of the imperial cuisine of Central Vietnam.  Prepare and savour with your classmates a selection of traditional dishes.  After lunch explore the quaint cobblestone streets of Hoi An. Day 8



Hoi An - Hanoi
Morning boat trip to Cua Dai, to observe local fishermen in their daily activities. Then, board a coracle (a round basket boat) for a tour of a mangrove forest. Disembark, and time at leisure to further explore Hoi An. Later, transfer to Danang for your flight to Hanoi. Arrival transfer to your hotel. (B)

   
Day 9




Hanoi
A new cooking lesson today. As always, it will begin with a visit to a market where you will meet your host, Mrs Loi.  Once the shopping is done, join her in her beautiful house: a small haven of peace in the heart of Hanoi. Together, prepare 3 typical dishes of the region that you will share in a convivial lunch with your host and her family. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature and the Museum of Ethnology. Day 10


Hanoi - Halong Bay
Morning drive to Ha Long where you will board your traditional junk. Sail amongst the thousands of karst limestone islands and islets of Halong Bay. Fresh seafood lunch and dinner on board. (B,L,D)

   
Day 11

Halong Bay - Hanoi
Wake up early in the morning to admire the bay at sunrise. Later, disembark and transfer back to Hanoi. (B)

   
Day 12

Hanoi
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
