Explore the splendours of diverse and fascinating Myanmar on this tour, a perfect introduction to the country's natural wonders and cultural treasures.
Start in Yangon and gaze in awe at the gilded Shwedagon Pagoda. In Bagan, explore the countless pagodas, temples and markets before flying to the ancient royal capital of Mandalay. The tour finishes at the beautiful Inle Lake, famous for its floating villages, gardens and the leg-rowers of the Intha tribe.

Day 1
  
  Yangon
Welcome to Myanmar.  Arrival transfer to your hotel.
     
Day 2




  Yangon
Depart for a sightseeing tour of Yangon. Start with a visit to Kyaukhtagyi Pagoda to admire its 70 metre long reclining Buddha.  Continue to the Royal Lake before visiting the gem of Yangon, the Golden Shwedagon Pagoda with its 100 metre high chedi covered with more than 40 tons of gold leaves.  Visit a local market and the vibrant streets of Chinatown before returning to your hotel. Day 3
 



  Yangon – Bagan
Transfer to the airport and flight to Bagan. On arrival, drive to an elevated temple to gain a panoramic view of the thousands of red bricks stupas and pagodas of Bagan, this is truly one of the greatest architectural sites in Asia. Visit some of the most outstanding temples and a traditional lacquer workshop. Afternoon private boat ride along the Irrawaddy River to the impressive Kyauk Gu U Min temple and stop to explore a riverside village for a taste of local life. Sail back to Bagan. (B)
     
Day 4




 

Bagan
Morning optional hot air balloon ride over Bagan. Visit Nyaung U market and attend a traditional Buddhist ceremony in a monastery to witness the offering of the alms to the monks. Afternoon visit by horse cart to Thatbyinnyu Temple. Later, admire the sunset from the upper terrace of Sulamani Temple. (B)

     
Day 5





 

Bagan - Mandalay
Transfer to the airport and flight to Mandalay, the ancient royal capital. On arrival, walk up Mandalay Hill for a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding Shan Hills. Visit Kyauktawyi, Kuthodaw and Mahamuni Pagodas and wander amongst the many traditional craft workshops. Drive to Amarapura, another former royal capital and visit the Mahagandayon monastery. Watch the sun set from the legendary teakwood U Bein Bridge, spanning the Taungthaman Lake. 

     
Day 6




 

Mandalay - Sagaing – Ava - Mandalay
Morning visit to Mandalay vibrant market. Then cross the Irrawaddy River and drive to Sagaing, famous for its 600 ivory coloured pagodas and monasteries. Share a tea with a local family and learn about the art of longyis weaving. Continue to Ava where you travel by horse carriage to the wooden Bagaya Monastery. Drive back to Mandalay for overnight. Day 7
 

 

Mandalay - Heho - Inle Lake
Morning flight to Heho followed by a drive to Nyaung Shwe, gateway to Inle Lake.  Travel by private motorboat in Inle Lake. See the many floating villages and their gardens, Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery and its jumping cats and Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda. (B)

     
Day 8



 

Inle Lake - Indein - Inle Lake
Morning visit to the lake's market, followed by a boat ride to the Pa-Oh Village of Indein to view a hilltop Buddha and Stupa ruins, not to mention mesmerising views. Later, depart for a walk to Sae Ma village before returning to your hotel. (B)

     
Day 9

 

Inle Lake - Heho - Yangon
Transfer to Heho Airport and flight to Yangon to connect with your onward flight. (B)
