Immerse yourself in Burmese culture with this tour designed to encompass the most popular sights of this beautiful country, including the monasteries and pagodas of Yangon and Mandalay and the thousands of ancient stupas and temples of Bagan. This journey will also take you to less visited but equally rewarding places such as Sagar, in the Shan State and Monywa in the beautiful Chindwin Valley. 

Day 1
  Mandalay arrival
    Welcome to Myanmar. Arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 2

Mandalay – Mingun – Mandalay

    Board a private boat and journey up the Irrawaddy to Mingun. See the 87 ton Mingun Bell and the
unfinished Mingun Paya. Sail back to Mandalay and visit Kyauktawgyi, Mahamuni and Kuthodaw Pagodas. Then admire Shwenandaw Monastery and its remarkable woodcarvings and head to Shwe Kyin Monastery for sunset and see the young student monks gather and line up for their evening prayer. (B)
Day 3
  Sagaing – Ava – Mandalay
    Visit Mandalay's market and drive to Sagaing, famous for its 600 pagodas and monasteries. Share tea with a local family and continue to Ava where you travel by horse carriage to the Bagaya Monastery. Continue to Amarapura to visit the Mahagandayon Monastery and take a leisurely walk as you admire sunset on the U Bein Bridge. (B)
Day 4
  Mandalay – Po Win Taung – Monywa
    Depart for Monywa, on the banks of the Chindwin River. En route, visit Thanboddhay Pagoda, a huge
Buddhist temple covered with more than 500,000 Buddha images and Boditahtaung Pagoda which
houses the largest reclining Buddha image in Myanmar.  Afternoon drive to Po Win Taung in local open-air jeeps.  Visit this extraordinary complex consisting of 947 sandstone caves and containing the richest collection of mural paintings in Southeast Asia. (B)
Day 5
  Monywa – Pakokku – Bagan
    Drive along the Chindwin River stopping to visit untouched local villages along the way. Arrive in Pakkoku and explore its thriving market. Board a local boat for a relaxing journey down the Irrawaddy River to Bagan. (B)
Day 6
    Morning optional hot air balloon ride. Visit Thagyar Pone temple to take in a panoramic view of the Bagan plains and visit some of Bagan's most outstanding temples.  Afternoon visit by horse cart to Thatbyinnyu Temple. Later, admire the sunset from the upper terrace of Sulamani Temple. (B)
Day 7
    Today, immerse yourself in the local culture. Start with a visit to Nyaung Oo Market where the locals come to trade fresh produce. Then drive through Bagan's countryside to Minnanthu. This tranquil village is little visited by tourists, allowing an authentic encounter with the local population. Later visit Payathonzu Temple known for its strange structural design and Kyat Kan Cave Monastery, an important meditation retreat. (B)
Day 8

Bagan – Heho – Inle Lake

    Morning flight to Heho and transfer to Nyaung Shwe, gateway to Inle Lake. Embark on a private motorboat and explore the floating villages and temples on the lake. Observe the daily activities of the local leg-rowing fishermen and see their floating gardens. (B)
Day 9

Inle Lake – Indein – Inle Lake

    Visit the morning market which attracts people from all over the lake's shores, gathering to buy and sell their wares. Then take a boat ride to the Pa-Oh Village of Indein famous for its pagoda complex. See the hilltop Buddha and the hundreds of stupa ruins and take in the mesmerising views. Later visit the Inthar Heritage House to learn more about the history and culture of the lake's indigenous people. (B)
Day 10

Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon

    Transfer to Nyaung Shwe. Explore on local trishaw the morning market where locals gather every morning to buy and sell fresh produce from the lake and its surroundings. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Heho Airport for your flight to Yangon. (B)
Day 11


    Depart on a walking tour of Yangon to discover the British colonial heritage of the city and the Indian and Chinese quarters. Later, visit Kyauktawgyi Pagoda and the legendary Golden Shwedagon Pagoda. (B)
Day 12


    Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
