Yangon - Principal gateway to Myanmar, Yangon is home to an extraordinary mix of communities, cultures and religions and to the Shwedagon Paya, the country's oldest and most magnificent pagoda. But the city has a lot more to offer and it is worth a few days to soak up the faded charm of the old colonial quarter, a remnant of the grandeur of the British Raj at its peak.

Bagan - Like Angkor in Cambodia, Bagan is unquestionably one of the 'must sees' in Asia. Founded in 849, on the bank of the Irrawaddy River, Bagan is home to over 3000 Buddhist temples, pagodas and stupas built between the 11th and 13th centuries and offering an awe-inspiring sight best appreciated at sunset or at dawn on a hot air balloon flight.

Mandalay & the Ancient Capitals - One of the most evocative names in travel, Mandalay was the last royal capital of Burma prior to British rule in the mid-19th century. The golden Buddha of Mahamuni Paya is one of the main sight of the city, but the real attractions lie beyond town in the nearby ancient cities of Sagaing, Ava or Mingun which can be reached by a pleasant boat journey along the Irrawaddy River.
