Gyengju & Busan

Busan is Korea's largest port city best known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant festivals.  The Gyeongangnam-do Province is home to a wonderful atmosphere where temples, cherry blossoms, green tea and literature come together.  It is also home to one of Korea's greatest treasures - Tripitakas Koreana: an extensive collection of Buddhist scriptures carved into wooden blocks.

Day 1   Gyengju  arrival           
    Morning drive to Gyengju (360 km from Seoul).  On arrival set off for a visit to the Bulkusa Temple and Seokguram Grotto.  The Grotto is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site - an artificial granite temple taking 24 years to build.  The Temple is also a UNESCO World Cultural Asset, known for its beauty and stone relics.  Check in to your hotel at 6 pm with the evening free.
Day 2   Gyengju - Busan      

After breakfast check out of your hotel and depart on a morning sightseeing tour visiting the Daereungwon Tomb Complex - 23 large tombs of the kings and noblemen of the Silla Dynasty; and Cheomseongdae - the oldest existing astronomical observatory in Asia.  After the tour drive to Busan.  In the afternoon depart on a tour of the Nurimaru Apec House on Dongbaekseom Island.  Although a modern conference hall, it has been built along the lines of traditional Korean architecture.  Also view the Busan Aquarium with over 35000 species of fish, algae, reptiles and amphibians spread over 3 underground levels and an outdoor park.  Check into your Busan hotel approximately 4.30 pm.  Free time in the evening. Day 3   Busan         
After breakfast and hotel checkout continue your exploration of Busan with a visit to the Kukje Market (one of Korea's largest markets), Jagalchi Fish Market and Biff Square.  After free time for lunch continue to the UN memorial Cemetery and New Zealand monument honouring soldiers from 16 countries killed during the Korean War.   Return to your hotel for free time. Day 4
  Busan departure
    After breakfast transfer to Incheon International Airport for your departure from Seoul.
