  Day 1

  Chennai – Mahabalipuram (55 km)
Welcome to India. Arrival transfer to Mahabalipuram. 
  Day 2

Morning visit of Mahabalipuram and its many temples of typical south India architecture.After a traditional Tamil Nadu lunch, visit the open air museum of Dakshinachitra. (B,L,D)
  Day 3


Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (120 km)
Drive to Pondicherry. On arrival, sightseeing tour of this former capital of French India before independence. Dinner at your hotel. (B,D)

  Day 4


Pondicherry – Tanjore (170 km)
Drive to Tanjore. Sightseeing tour of Tanjore. Visit Gangaikondacholapuram and Darasuram Temples to admire their intricately carved sculptures. (B,D)

  Day 5


Tanjore – Trichy - Tanjore (300 km)
Today, drive to Trichy. On arrival, visit Trichy, former citadel of the early Cholas built around the Rock Fort. Visit the Srirangam Temple for a great view over the city and the Cauvery River. Drive back to Tanjore for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

  Day 6


Tanjore – Chettinad (125 km)
Drive to Karaikudi, heart of the Chettinad district, famous for its architecture and unique and distinctive cuisine. Tonight attend a cooking demonstration and learn how to cook authentic Chettinad Chicken. (B,D)

  Day 7


Visit local villages and markets to learn about local spices and vegetables. Typical lunch served on a banana leaf. This afternoon, cooking class to prepare your very own Chettinad cuisine dinner. (B,L,D)

  Day 8


Chettinad – Madurai (110 km)
Drive to Madurai and visit the famous Meenakshi Temple, Tirumalai Nayak Palace, the local bazaars and a vibrant vegetable market. Tonight attend an aarti ceremony. (B,D)

  Day 9


Madurai - Periyar (160 km)
Drive to Periyar through the green lush landscapes of Kerala visiting en route Theni's spice market. Afternoon visit to a spice plantation along with a naturalist guide. Learn all about the local spices found in Thekkady. Tonight enjoy traditional a Kathakali dancing performance. (B,D)

  Day 10


Periyar – Alleppey (150 km)
This morning, depart for a boat ride on Lake Periyar to observe the local wildlife. Then, drive to Drive to Alleppey, the "Venice of the East". Embark on a houseboat manned by your own crew. During the cruise, your chef will prepare fresh fish and authentic Kerala cuisine while you unwind and explore life along the backwaters. (B,L,D)

  Day 11


Alleppey- Cochin (60 km)
Disembark after breakfast and drive to Cochin. Visit the Old City, a fascinating blend of Portuguese, Dutch and British architectures and see the famous Chinese fishing nets. Tonight, witness a demonstration of traditional Keralan Martial arts after your dinner at award winning seafood restaurant "Fort Cochin". (B,D)

  Day 12


After a visit to a local fish market, drive to Nimmy Paul's home. A renowned Keralan chef, Nimmy conducts cookery classes and will teach you about the nuances of traditional Kerala recipes. Together prepare and savour a traditional Keralan dish. (B,L,D)

  Day 13


Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
