This could possibly be the ultimate Northern India journey: a wonderful tour combining the history, colours and culture of Rajasthan, the mesmerising Taj Mahal, stunning wildlife, the beautiful temples of Khajuraho and the mystical atmosphere of Varanasi.  This tour includes three game drives on the trail of the elusive tiger in Bandhavgarh National Park. 

  Day 1


Welcome to India. Meet, assist and private transfer to your hotel. 

  Day 2


Sightseeing tour of Old Delhi with its maze of small alleyways, side streets and the legendary bazaars of Chandni Chowk. Continue to New Delhi, characterised by the British colonial buildings and wide tree- lined boulevards. (B)

  Day 3


Delhi – Jaipur (265 km)
Drive to the Pink City of Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan.  Depart for a cycle rickshaw ride to visit the vibrant vegetable market. (B)

  Day 4


Visit the majestic Amber Fort where you will take an elephant ride.  Then drive to the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) and visit the City Palace and the Jantar Mantar Observatory. (B)

  Day 5


Jaipur – Agra (250 km)
Depart for Agra, visiting the eerie ghost town of Fatehpur Sikri enroute.  This was Akbar's former capital which was deserted due to water shortages after only 20 years of inhabitation. (B)


  Ranthambore Detour: Maximise your chance to spot tigers on this tour by also including Ranthambore National Park on the way from Jaipur to Agra

  Day 6


Agra - Katni
Morning visit to the world famous eternal monument of love, the Taj Mahal.  In the afternoon visit the majestic Red Fort of Agra.  In the evening transfer to the railway station for an overnight train to Katni. (B)

  Day 7


Katni - Bandhavgarh
Morning arrival into Katni followed by a transfer from the train station to Bandhavgarh National Park.  In the afternoon depart for the first of 3 game drives across the park.  The density of the tiger population here is one of the highest known in India.  The park is also home to a healthy population of leopards and many species of deer. Bandhavgarh National Park
Morning and afternoon game drives in a shared jeep to spot the elusive tiger. (B,L,D)

  Day 9


Bandhavgarh - Khajuraho (250 km)
Drive to Khajuraho.  Afternoon sightseeing tour of the Eastern group of temples displaying exquisite and timeless intricate carvings. (BO


Day 10



Khajuraho - Varanasi
Visit the southern and western groups of temples including the famous Kandariya Mahedeo temple. Later fly to Varanasi.  In the evening walk along the Ghats and attend a fascinating Aarti Ceremony during which offerings of flowers and glowing lamps are made to the holy river. (B)

  Day 11

Early morning boat ride on the Ganges to witness the daily rituals.  Later visit Bharat Mata and Durga Temples.  In the afternoon visit Sarnath,m where Buddha gave his first sermon. (B)
  Day 12

  Varanasi - Delhi
Morning at leisure to further explore this fascinating city.  Later transfer to the airport and fly to Delhi to connect with your onward flight. (B)
