   Samode Palace Detour
  Located only one hour from Jaipur, the small village of Samode is a perfect place to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle for a short retreat.  Stay at the 475 year old Samode Palace, a splendid example of Indian and Mughal architecture. Lose yourself in the maze of courtyards, quaint narrow staircases and exquisitely painted lounges. Each room has a unique character and is filled with a range of antique furniture.

Day 3: Delhi - Samode (240 km)
Drive to Samode and check in at your fairy-tale accommodation for one night, Samode Palace.  Time at leisure to relax by the pool or to wander the cobbled streets of the charming village. (B)

Day 4: Samode -  Jaipur (45 km)
Morning at leisure. Drive to Jaipur and resume your Golden Triangle tour with a visit to the Maharajah's City palace, the Palace of the Winds and the Jantar Mantar. (B)






   Pushkar Escapade
  The small holy town of Pushkar comes to life every November, when it hosts the world famous camel fair. Thousands of colourful Rajasthanis come to trade and race camels and a huge tented city is created in the desert for the fair and festivities. If you are travelling in Rajasthan in November, it would be a shame to miss this amazing event. Festival dates: 28 Oct - 04 Nov '17.

  Day 3: Jaipur - Ajmer - Pushkar
Morning train to Ajmer. On arrival visit Ajmer's amazing golden Jain temple. Continue to Pushkar.
Time at leisure to savour the unique atmosphere of this tranquil and sacred lakeside town. (B)

Day 4: Pushkar - Jaipur
Visit Pushkar, home to one of the world's few Brahma temples on the shore of its holy lake. Later drive back to Jaipur and resume your tour as per day 5 of the Golden triangle itinerary.
   Ranthambore Detour
  Where the wild things are! Embark on the definitive adventure for tiger and wildlife enthusiasts, in search of the elusive Shere Khan himself. Former hunting reserve of the Maharajah of Jaipur, Ranthambore National Park covers a huge area with unmatched
varieties of flora and fauna. Ranthambore is one of the best places to view not only tigers in the wild, but also antelopes, leopards and the insect eating sloth bears.

   Detour Length: 3 days
Depart from: Jaipur
Return to: Agra
Departs: Daily

Day 5:  Jaipur – Ranthambore (150 km)
Drive to Ranthambore.  Afternoon game drive by shared canter. (B,D)

Day 6 : Ranthambore park
Morning and evening game drive by shared canter. (B,L,D)

Day 7: Ranthambore - Fatehpur Sikri – Agra
Morning train to Fatehpur Sikri. Resume your Golden Triangle tour. (B)

Note: Ranthambore National Park is closed from 01 Jul to 30 Sep.


   Varanasi Detour
  Discover the little visited gem and haven of peace that is Orchha before heading to Khajuraho to admire the superb temples and intricate carvings which are amongst the greatest masterpieces of Indian art.  Then fly to Varanasi, India's spiritual heart, on the banks of the holy River Ganges.
   Detour Length: 4 days

 Return to: Delhi
 Departs: Daily

Day 6 : Agra - Orccha
After your morning visit to the Taj Mahal, train to Jhansi and drive to Orchha. This peaceful 16th century town dotted with many temples offers a wonderful glimpse of an undiscovered India. (B)

Day 7: Orchha - Khajuraho (175 km)
Drive to Khajuraho.  Tour the erotic temples with their exquisite carvings. (B)

Day 8: Khajuraho - Varanasi
Fly to Varanasi.  Visit Varanasi and Sarnath, where Buddha gave his first sermon. (B)

Day 9: Varanasi - Delhi
Early morning boat ride to view sunrise on the Ganges and to watch people go about their daily activities, lighting funeral pyres and conducting ceremonial offerings.  Later transfer to the airport for your flight back to Delhi. (B)
