Welcome to India. Meet, assist and transfer to your hotel.

  Day 2 


Delhi – Agra (205 km)
Morning tour of Old and New Delhi visiting Raj Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi's memorial, India Gate (the War Memorial) and the Presidents House (from the outside), the Baha'i Lotus Temple and the stunning Qutub Minar.  Afternoon drive to Agra. (B)

  Day 3

Depart for a morning visit to the Taj Mahal, often considered the pinnacle of Mughal art in India. Marvel as light and colours transform this stunning monument in the beautiful dawn glow. This afternoon, visit Agra Fort. (B)

  Day 4

Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Jaipur (250 km)
This morning, visit Fatehpur Sikri, an eerily abandoned capital from the 16th century. Continue to Jaipur, Rajasthan's capital. This evening enjoy authentic Rajasthani cuisine at a renowned local restaurant. (B,D)

  Day 5

Morning tour to Amber Fort. Travel on elephant back and visit Jagmandir (the Hall of Victory). Afternoon visit to Hawa Mahal, City Palace and the Jantar Mantar Observatory. (B)

  Day 6

Jaipur – Pushkar (140 km)
Drive to the tranquil lakeside town of Pushkar. On arrival, walking tour to the Holy Lake shores and Brahma Temple. This evening, attend a fascinating puja ceremony at a Ghat with a Hindu priest. (B)

  Day 7

Pushkar - Udaipur (260 km)
Depart for Udaipur, a majestic city of lakes and palaces. This evening, take a sunset cruise on Lake Pichola, sailing past picturesque Ghats and palaces and stopping at the island of Jag Mandir. (D)

  Day 8

Visit the City Palace, Jagdish Temple and explore the old city bustling streets and markets. This evening enjoy a special dinner in a reputed local restaurant. (B,D)

  Day 9

Udaipur – Jodhpur (285km)
Drive to Jodhpur visiting en route the stunning intricately carved temples of Ranakpur. Continue to the Blue City of Jodhpur. (B)

  Day 10

Jodhpur - Jaisalmer (290km)
This morning visit Mehrangarh Fort which dominates the city and Jaswant Thada. Later, drive to Jaisalmer. (B)

  Day 11

Sightseeing of Jaisalmer. Built in burnished sandstone, this desert fortress is an intricately moulded wonderland, rising like a mirage from the flat expanses of the Thar Desert.  Visit the Fort and the grand Havelis (mansions of wealthy traders). This afternoon drive to the Sam sand dunes for a camel ride and a view of the desert landscape. (B)

  Day 12

Jaisalmer – Bikaner (325km)
Morning drive to Bikaner. On arrival visit a camel breeding farm to learn more about these "ships of the desert". (B)

  Day 13

Bikaner - Mandawa (200km)
This morning, visit Junagarh Fort then drive to Mandawa where your guide will take you on a walking tour to visit some of the local Havelis which this region is famous for. (B)

  Day 14

Mandawa – Delhi - Chennai – Mahabalipuram
Drive back to Delhi, and transfer to the airport for your flight to Chennai. On arrival in Chennai, transfer to your hotel in Mahabalipuram. (B)

  Day 15

Sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram and its many carved monuments. With its many temples built between the 7th and the 9th centuries, the city is a true open air museum and is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (B,L)

  Day 16

Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry (100km)
This morning visit the community of Auroville. Later, drive to Pondicherry, a surprising town reminiscent of colonial times, when it was a French enclave. (B)

  Day 17

Pondicherry – Tanjore (220km)
Drive to Tanjore. A bustling market town in one of the main rice-growing regions of Tamil Nadu, Tanjore was once the capital of the Chola Empire. En route, visit the stunning Dharasuram Temple. (B)

  Day 18

Tanjore – Madurai (165km)
Explore Tanjore and the Brihadisvara Temple.  This magnificent temple, over 1000 years old, evokes the power of the Chola kings as it towers over the town. Later, drive to Madurai and wander through its busy streets full of pilgrims, sacred cows, open-air kitchens and colourful bazaars. (B)

  Day 19

Sightseeing tour of Madurai by bicycle rickshaw. Visit the flower, fruit & spice market, Thirumalai Nayak Palace, and the Gandhi Museum. This evening attend a sound and light show at the Thirumalai Nayak Palace. (B)

  Day 20

Madurai – Periyar (165km)
Drive to the breathtakingly beautiful wildlife sanctuary of Periyar where you will take a guided plantation tour to learn about spices and aromatic plants.

  Day 21

Periyar – Kumarakom (200 km)
Early departure for a dawn walk, trying to spot elephant, deer, wild boar, mongoose and colourful birds. Then, depart for Kumarakom, a cluster of tiny islands surrounded by a labyrinth of tropical waterways. (B)

  Day 22

Spend the day at leisure to relax and unwind in your beautiful resort. (B)

  Day 23

Kumarakom – Cochin (90km)
Drive to Cochin. See the old districts and visit St Francis Church and the highly decorated Santa Cruz Basilica. Linger in the colourful spice markets and see the Chinese nets that line the shore of Fort Cochin. Tonight, see a Kathakali performance. (B)

Departure transfer to the airport for your onward flight (B)
