Day 1



  Phnom Penh
Welcome to Cambodia.  Meet, assist and transfer to your hotel.  Set out for a first tour of Phnom Penh.  Visit Wat Phnom Temple, namesake and symbol of the capital city.  Then take a short cruise on the Mekong River to admire the city at sunset from the river.
              
 
Day 2




  Phnom Penh
Morning visit to the national Museum, which hosts a superb collection of Khmer sculptures, and the Royal Palace.  Continue with a visit to Tuol Sleng, a former detention centre and the infamous killing fields.  Return to the city and stroll through the gigantic Russian Markets. Day 3




  Phnom Penh - Kompong Thom
Morning departure for Kompong Thom.  On the way pass a number of villages and visit the pre-Angkorian temples of Sambor Prei Kuk, dating back to the 7th century and which may have served as an inspiration for the architects of Angkor five centuries later.  Overnight in Kompong Thom. Day 4


  Kompong Thom - Siem Reap
Today visit Kompong Kleang on Tonle Sap Lake, a floating village composed of hundreds of stilted houses resting up to 10 metres off the ground.  Meet a local family that breeds crocodiles.  After a picnic lunch in a villager's home, continue onto Siem Reap. (B,L)

 
Day 5



  Siem Reap & Angkor Temples
This morning depart for an easy horse ride and gain a real insight into rural cambodian life as you go through remote temples, rice fields and villages.  This afternoon, discover the Roluos group of temples dating back to the 9th century. (B)
     
Day 6





  Siem Reap & Angkor Temples
Today, visit the incredible temple of Angkor Wat, one of the most amazing man-made monuments with its soaring towers and extraordinary bas reliefs.  Then you will be driven to a remote temple where an exclusive picnic will have been set up for you.  Enjoy and relax while you are given a foot massage.  In the afternoon, visit Banteay Srei and its intricate sculptures and the jungle-submerged Ta Prohm Monastery where roots seem to grow out of the temple. (B)
     
Day 7




  Siem Reap & Angkor Temples
Start your day with a visit to the Bang Melea Temple.  After lunch visit Angkor Thom and the famous Bayon, composed of 54 gigantic towers featuring 216 smilingly faces of Avalokitesvara.  Then, visit the elephant and Leper King Terraces. (B)
     
Day 8

  Siem Reap
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
